The 59th Annual Highland County Maple Festival is right around the corner! Choose between two weekend dates - March 11 and 12 or March 18 and 19 of 2017. Enjoy arts and crafts, live entertainment and, of course, maple everything. Learn the process of maple syrup-making. Tour guides will educate visitors on how the trees are ‘opened’. Explore this lost art by visiting some of the nearby sugar camps.
This festival is truly a culinary experience. Sample delicious local products and a selection of tasty treats infused with Highland-made maple syrup. Maple donuts, maple-glazed chicken, maple candy, all-you-can-eat plain and buckwheat pancakes—smothered in maple syrup—are “musts” on your Maple Festival to-do list. The festival is also famous for its Highland County-grown lamb and trout dinners.
