Learn about America’s intriguing history which stems from the many European immigrants who traveled to this country through the centuries. This museum highlights information regarding German, Irish and English immigrants who settled the farmlands between the 1600s and 1800s.
This open-air living history museum comprises five farms which were dismantled at their original site and meticulously reassembled on the property. The German Farm from the village of Hordt in Germany dates to the 1600s. The Irish Farm from Northern Ireland dates to the 1700s and the English farm from Worcestershire in England dates to the 1600s. The American Farm at this museum came from Botetourt County Virginia and dates to the 1800s. The newest addition is the Bowman House which stood in Rockingham County, Virginia and dates to the 1700s.
Stop by the blacksmith forge and visit the Museum Store to purchase products made here in addition to imported products from Ireland, Germany and England. Admission prices range from $6-$10.
